Conflict Detection Print E-mail
Beispiel: Konflikterkennung im BildfahrplanA railway timetable must fulfill numerous constraints including infrastructure (tracks, interlocking systems etc.), vehicle (performance, train type) and service pattern (intermediate stops, connections, etc.). The higher the railway system’s degree of networking and the closer it is to operating at capacity, the more constraints must be considered in timetable development.

Beispiel: Konflikterkennung in der GleisbelegungIn complex cases it is difficult to verify that all constraints have been considered and that the proposed timetable is conflict-free. Viriato’s Conflict Detection module, which is based on the CAPRES algorithms , can be used to easily accomplish these tasks for both station track occupancy and line segments. The Conflict Detection module determines whether a timetable fulfills all the operational and infrastructure constraints, identifies any specific situations where constraints are not met and then provides information about the conflict (including the trains affected, the location, duration and type of conflict) to the timetable planner. The results can be displayed in the Graphic Timetable and in the Track Occupancy Diagram.

Functionality

  • Distinguish between single direction and bi-directional service on a line;
  • Detect crossings on single track lines;
  • Detect insufficient headway times based on user-defined headway standards;
  • Set station-specific separation times for conflicting routes and slip distances;
  • Examine simultaneous track allocations, track and platform lengths, and un-allowed routes.

Display/Output

  • Graphic display of conflicts on the track occupancy diagram and graphic timetable;
  • Table listing conflicts including conflict duration and affected trains.
