Founded in 1987 and based in Zurich/Switzerland, SMA und Partner AG is an independent company specialized in transportation, traffic and operation planning with currently 55 employees. The main business activities are the operational and service planning for railway companies. An in-house developed timetable planning tool called Viriato, led to the setup of an own IT-department, which grew considerably in the past years. Besides offering maintenance, support and enhancements for the Viriato software, the department also broadened its field of operations. Today it offers integrated software solutions in the railway business, from process analyzes, software conceptions and engineering to implementation, operation and maintenance of the own software solutions.
